Meet the Team
Fabio Azeredo, PhD
Fabio (he/him) has been working as a mental health clinician for over 20 years. He believes in the power of listening in a space safe from negative criticism, where persons who seek to improve their mental well-being can develop a better relationship with themselves. Making the best of the coping mechanisms people already process while practicing new problem-solving skills can significantly impact the management of frustration, anxiety, and other overwhelming emotions.
Fabio has worked with victims of violence and families of missing persons in several countries in South America. He has experience with helping families of immigrants in their efforts to adapt to American culture. He has also worked with children and youth diagnosed with ADHD facing psychosocial and emotional challenges. This includes assisting their families in improving the ways in which they can help and understand their children.
Other areas Fabio feels he can be helpful to individuals include individuals with suicidal ideations and individuals and their families dealing with issues related to aging and dementia. Fabio is happy to be part of the Canopy Team, as he has always advocated against social, racial, and gender injustice, believing that empowering individuals and communities calls for not only self awareness but also actual social change.
In his spare time, Fabio spends time with his wife and two children, reading and meeting new people.
Fabio is not accepting new clients at this time.
