Meet the Team

Sahra Mohamud, Administrative Coordinator

Sahra was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She came to the United States during high school and graduated within a year of her arrival. She attended the University of St. Thomas, where she earned an Associate’s Degree and received a scholarship to continue her higher education. Eventually, she graduated with a degree in Digital Media Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences. Her passion for media and production ignited during her sophomore year when she interned at the City of Minneapolis. This experience led her to join the Communication team for Minneapolis news, focusing on scooter safety. Following that, she enrolled in Communication and Media classes. Throughout her college journey, she engaged in various projects, including writing scripts, creating campaigns and blogs, directing a short film, and working on audio production.

Sahra was drawn to Canopy due to its commitment to collective well-being and community empowerment, including mental health.

In her free time, Sahra enjoys exploring nature, grabbing coffee with friends and family, and watching movies/tv shows. She also has a passion for food, especially home-cooked meals.
